STEVIE Z
GENRES: Urban
BIO..
Urban music may have never found it’s way into Gold Coast Nightclubs without the influence of Stevie Z.
Brash as it seems, Stevie’s experience as a local tastemaker is well documented. Beginning with The Pure Playaz & Notorious - the Coast’s first urban radio shows - Stevie’s listenership reached over 20,000 punters weekly. It wasn’t long before his popularity spilled over to the clubs, and he found himself sharing the stage and airwaves with almost every conceivable RnB stars like Jay-Z, Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, NaS, Salt n Pepa, Ice Cube, Usher, Missy Elliot, A$AP Ferg & 50 Cent just to name a few.
Never one to settle, Stevie took his talents on the road, rocking dance floors from Brisbane to Bendigo. Eventually, the travel bug got the best of him, and in 2008 he embarked on a world tour – of sorts. Backpacking across Europe and The United States, Stevie performed at venues in every city he stopped, culminating in a main stage set at The Cat House in Vegas’ famed LUXOR Casino.
Finding influence in every corner of the globe, Stevie’s musical taste has expanded to include all party starting genres known to man. A typical set sees Stevie running through styles like a minefield, jumping from hip-hop to electro, over to pop and everything between.
Settling back into the Gold Coast until his next international jaunt, 2018 has seen Stevie move from clubs to festivals, with Australia’s best including Stereosonic, Summafieldayze, Future Music Festival & Beach Life queuing up for a slice of the delicious Stevie pie.
And after all this, Stevie’s passion for discovering and sharing the latest music with his audience still remains the same – whether it’s on the air or on the stage.
