Hailing from the vibrant coastal town of Coffs Harbour and now based on the Gold Coast, Jonny Sounds is a dynamic DJ whose journey began at the young age of 14. With his first set of DJ decks and a passion for music, Jonny started mixing and performing at community events alongside his cousin, laying the groundwork for a career that has flourished over the years.
Professionally DJing for 2 years, Jonny has an extensive background playing at house parties, raves, bush doofs, and various other events prior to going pro. Specialising in a diverse range of genres including House Music, Nu Disco, Jackin House, Deep House, Tech House, Techno, and Psytrance, he has become a sought-after talent for a wide array of venues. From sports clubs and cafes to bars, weddings, school formal after- parties, martial arts events, gyms, raves, and warehouse parties, Jonny's eclectic style fits seamlessly into any setting.
With a residency at Cafe Catalina and a reputation for his enthusiastic, high-vibrational, and fun DJing style, Jonny stands out for his ability to keep his sets fresh and engaging. His commitment to playing new music ensures that half of his sets are unrecognizable by Shazam, creating a unique experience for his audience.
Jonny’s influences include Martin Garrix from his early years, and today, he draws inspiration from artists like Jimmy Harvey, Amii Watson, FISHER, David Penn, and Purple Disco Machine.
